Unusual Uses for Melaleuca Products

The Melaleuca Wellness Guide is filled with safer solutions for many everyday problems. The multiple properties of a product are one of the reasons a product can work for a variety of uses. Take for example T36-C5 Melaleuca Oil (aka tea tree oil). It is naturally antiseptic, soothing, aromatic, penetrating, and a natural solvent. The unique and combined properties of T36-C5 make it effective not only to heal skin but also as a natural solvent.

The Melaleuca Wellness Guide lists over 130 conditions that use Melaleuca Oil as a remedy. Other products such as Sol-U-Mel are similarly multitasking with close to 140 uses.

Here are some of our favorite uses of Melaleuca products:

Super Glue - If you have ever glued your fingers together with Super Glue, you will really appreciate this suggestion. Apply a couple of drops of T36-C5 Melaleuca oil to the glued area and rub for a couple of minutes. The glue comes off and skin stays soft. (This works for Crazy Glue, too).

Fingernails - When working in the garden and other particularly dirty areas, it can be challenging to clean our nails. Try washing them with MelaBrite. They will come clean almost instantly and remain snow white. A preventative tip is to rub MelaGel under your fingernails before gardening. Some gardeners also dig their fingernails into a Gold Bath Bar as a dirt preventative.

Dog Odor Remover - Sometimes a dog will roll onto something gross. Remove gunk with paper towels and Tough & Tender. Follow this with diluted Sol-U-Mel.

Shoeshine - Try Rustic Touch when you want a quick and easy shoeshine. It is also very effective when shining leather purses.

Insect Repellent - Save your used MelaSoft Dryer Sheets and carry one in your front pocket, or tie it in your hair or cap. It really helps keep the bugs away.

Headache - The Practical Guide to Essential Oils by RM Barry notes that applying a dilution of 10% peppermint oil to the forehead and temple areas was as effective as taking 1000mg of acetaminophen.

Try this blend: In a dropper bottle mix together 14 drops peppermint oil with 1 tablespoon carrier oil. Mix well and gently apply to forehead and temple areas. Avoid eye area. Do not use on babies or children.

Unusual Uses for Melaleuca Products Success Stories

In the spring and summer, Tough and Tender is at the ready to spray tiny brown ants and watch them quickly go to sleep on my counter as I keep my kitchen clean and tidy. RUSTIC TOUCH has some very versatile uses! I love it for shining stainless steel appliances after cleaning them as it not only makes them look great it helps them ward off fingerprints and smudges just as it helps furniture ward off dust! TOUGH AND TENDER is great for cleaning fruits and vegetables. I used to think the reason water just rolled off broccoli was it was too "tight" for the water to run through. Next time you purchase a bunch of broccoli, hold it under the faucet and watch the water roll off. Then spray half of it with diluted Tough and Tender and watch what happens! Amazing!

My feet are arthritic, sometimes swollen and sore. I have found that when I spray them with Sol-U-Guard my feet feel cool and relaxed and much better. I usually spray them at night before I go to bed and again in the morning. Really works for me.

I think that Cool Shot breath spray is one of the most valuable products in Melaleuca’s product line:
1. It’s great to use for a dry or sore throat.
2. If you burn your tongue on hot food, it takes the pain away instantly.
3. It can help remove a stain.
4. If you burn or bruise a part of your body, it will instantly take away the pain.
Examples: A co-worker burned her arm with a hot iron. She was stunned that it didn’t hurt or blister after I sprayed it on her arm. One time when I was at work, I bruised my toe by banging it into a door. I sprayed it and the pain went away immediately!

I have recently discovered that when I have an acne breakout I can use the Tooth Polish for a spot treatment. It dries it up and takes the redness away very quickly.

Here are my 2 tips.
1. Spray Tub & Tile inside pots, pans, baking dishes that have food stuck to them, fill with hot water and allow to soak for a little while, amazing how easy to clean after that.
2. Spray Tub & Tile to bottom of copper-bottom pans, brass candle holders and other brass items. Rinse with hot water and dry. Looks brand new again.

Our Melaleuca Tea Tree Oil - I cannot be without it. There are so many instances that you can use it and immediately see the results. Back, knee joints pain, rub it on and in few minutes you feel better. Cold, stuffy nose, cough, headache, there are so many testimonials; too many to mention every one. I carry it in my purse all the time. It is a way to get people interested in our products. While you are in a public place there is always someone with an issue that we can help, let them try it, and in few minutes they will thank you and there is a new prospective customer.

One of the most unusual product testimonies I have to share is using Renew Lotion to remove a watermark on a wood coffee table. A friend shared that tip and I tried it. I rubbed Renew Lotion into the watermark area, let it sit and came back to add rub a bit more and Voila! Watermark gone! Another testimony is using our Tub & Tile to clean silver. Who would have thought a shower cleaner would clean silver. Our Rustic Touch furniture polish is awesome on the dash board in your car. Spray it on the rag first then wipe. It smells nice too. I love that most of our products have multiple uses and it is fun hearing and trying other customers' product tips.

I have very dry, sensitive skin. The summer months present particular problems when I am outside and exposed to sun and heat. My two secret weapons are Melaleuca Oil T36-C5 and Renew Bath Oil. For many women summer means additional shaving and waxing in the bikini area, which can lead to unsightly bumps and ingrown hair follicles. I use Melaleuca Oil after shaving and it really helps with this problem! Also, I use Renew Bath Oil right out of the bottle in small amounts on very dry skin (legs and arms). My husband commented on how soft my skin is. Thank you for these great products!

I have used tea tree oil for acute pain with hemorrhoids. Applied in the evening they have disappeared by morning. I now use Fiber Wise and have pretty much eliminated the problem. I have used tea tree oil for canker sores, earaches, cuts, burns. What a miracle oil!

I love Tub &Tile for its unusual uses. It is absolutely great for cleaning an awning, or patio furniture. Use it straight and you don't have to clean nearly as often - about once a year from my experience. Also, great for a radiator flush. Sol-U-Mel is great for cleaning a whiteboard!

I have been a Melaleuca customer for over 10 years. I'm always telling my co-workers about the many uses of Melaleuca. One unusual use that came up was for removing gum from under the tables that we use at our agency for trainings and workshops. I just put one drop of the T36-C5 oil and the gum dissolves right away making it super easy to remove. I have also used the Sol-U-Mel to quickly and easily remove permanent marker from posters, tables, and walls. I love my Melaleuca!
