The New Rustic Touch

The Melaleuca Wellness Guide tells us that the home is where we are most likely to be exposed to toxic chemicals. Nowadays most people spend 80 to 90% of their time indoors, especially due to working from home this year.

Exposure to toxic indoor air may have a devastating effect on our health. A study done in 2018 showed lung function decline following occupational cleaning and cleaning at home using typical grocery store brand cleaners. The study done at the University of Bergen over 20 years concluded that people who used cleaning products regularly had a decline in lung function which was similar to “smoking a pack of cigarettes a day."

Tightly sealed energy efficient homes, along with keeping windows and doors tightly closed during cold weather, can increase the concentration of toxic chemicals.

The US Army warns against using aerosol cleaners, furniture polish, and air fresheners since they “are common sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in indoor air.” Aerosol sprays suspend chemicals in the air that then enter into our lungs. “Inhalation of these chemicals can lead to irritation in the lungs, dizziness, exhaustion, and decreased productivity,” states the article.

Some furniture polishes according to Medline Plus, a service of the US National Library of Medicine, are known to cause poisoning by inhalation, ingestion, or through the eyes. The article states that furniture polish poisoning can cause breathing difficulty, throat swelling, stomach or throat pain, confusion, or dizziness.

Besides adults who are now in the home more than in the past, children are just, if not more, susceptible to the fumes. Wouldn't you rather use something that is safer to dust and clean your furniture?

Rustic Touch Success Stories

We have been customers since 1994 and Rustic Touch has come to our rescue many times. We have used it to unstick zippers and make them slide easily. We use it on door hinges to stop squeaks. We used it on our Van's sliding door hinges to enable them to move more efficiently. Of course, I use it on my very expensive mahogany furniture as it repels dust and keeps their low lustre shine. Plus I don't have to dust as often. Bonus! I was amazed to see how my very old wooden cottage kitchen cupboards came back to life when I spent some time polishing them with Rustic Touch. I wanted to replace them but they look great now. My husband has used Rustic Touch to help free up old bolts and just loves it's many uses. We love this product!

I love the Rustic Touch for so many things. The wipes are great for wiping my dash in the car. The dust does not stick to it and it stays clean longer. It makes my car smell so fresh and clean too. When I had leather seats in my van it kept them looking brand new. I use spray to clean my leather purses and keeps them from cracking from the exposure to the winter. I spray on my shoes to restore their shine and I don't have to worry about the colored shoe polish getting on my skin or clothes. I love it to spray on my furniture. I don't have to dust as often. 😊 There is absolutely no build up. It's like a shield protecting everything. It's one of my favorite products from Melaleuca. I highly recommend everyone should try it. You will be glad you did.

I use Rustic Touch on wooden & leather furniture, as well as my older car. After I clean my car up (inside, outside, engine) with Melaleuca cleaners, once it's dry, I spray & wipe Rustic Touch on the plastic part everywhere. When people see how good my car looks, they are amazed that I did it all by myself! I love that it's inexpensive, easy & environmentally friendly! I did the same on my friend's newer car too. Do you still buy shoe polish? As a Melaleuca customer, I have discovered everything has multiple uses. I love The Melaleuca Wellness Guide because it is super easy to find those multiple uses. I have a pair of expensive brown leather hiking boots. They are so nice that they can be worn on a casual dress day. Of course, after using them for what they were designed for I had a few scuff marks. I pulled out my Rustic Touch and was amazed at the results. Now I don’t worry about buying new shoes because of a scuffmark or dullness. I just use my furniture polish! This is also suggested in The Melaleuca Wellness Guide under "shoeshine."

I’ve been a customer of Melaleuca since 1996! When Rustic Touch was first released, I was really excited to find a chemical free dusting spray! But soon I realized there were so many other uses. I absolutely love using it to polish any form of dress shoe as it brings them to ‘an almost new look. It’s so quick and easy to spray and wipe off right before you head out the door. If you haven't tried Rustic Touch yet, you should. I love it! I use it on so many things (common and uncommon). I polish my mahogany piano,coffee table,stainless steel refrigerator, leather furniture, shoes, vinyl, laptop computer, television screen, cellphone, and chrome truck bumpers (shines up beautifully). It smells like oranges. And I love that it is safe around kids and pets. It really is a budget wonder. Get some, if you haven't already. You won't be sorry.

We won some new kitchen appliances in a home show. Stainless steel, worth a lot. But stainless steel! They are so hard to keep clean with spills, fingerprints. Even my 11-year-old son was getting mad that they ever called this stuff stainless. We finally gave up trying to keep them clean. I finally got a Melaleuca Wellness Guide and looked up stainless steel in it. I was surprised to see that Rustic Touch was the thing to use. I love Rustic Touch. I polish all my wood furniture with it for a beautiful, protective shine. My polished (for years) wood coffee table was donated to my church's outdoor tag sale. Overnight an unexpected rain storm destroyed it - it was very wet with white spots all over. I dried it off and everyone thought it now belonged in the dump. Several hours later, as it dried, the table looked good as new. The Rustic Touch, with its protective waxes, really did the job. I protect all my wood furniture, leather seats, and stainless steel refrigerator with this.

Rustic Touch is the best dusting aid I have ever used. It does not draw dust particles to the cleaned area. It works very well when cleaning the interior of the car, too. It smells good, moisturizes, and leaves a clean dashboard. I also use it for cleaning my kitchen appliances. It cleans off the greasy dirt and leaves a surface that is fingerprint free. I have an unusual reason for loving Rustic Touch. As an animal lover, I have a lutino, or white, cockatiel. She's beautiful, but she is a huge source of fine baby powder like dust. It settles on every surface ... well it did. I started using Rustic Touch, and the dust is no longer coating my furnishings. I never would have believed that any product could repel bird dander. The proof is right there in my living room. If that weren't enough, it has started to put sheen back on my mid century maple desktop. I love this stuff.

Rustic Touch is so much more than just a furniture polish. I use it to keep my computer monitor screen clean and dust free, I use it on my glasses once a week to keep them dust free as well as clean. As a motorcycle rider, I'm always looking for something to clean my windscreen and my leathers. Rustic Touch makes my leathers look better than new.

I love Rustic Touch. It works so great as a furniture polish, but it does so much more. When your shoes need a quick shine, it's Rustic Touch. The interior of my car gets the protective coating of Rustic Touch 2-3 times a year. It protects the dash, and cleans and protects the entire interior of my car. But we had an old car that had oxidized. I tried Rustic Touch in a small area, and ended up polishing the entire red car! It took that oxidation right off. I got another Rustic Touch in our next order and brought back the brown and cream of our van. Sure made it easier to sell! I have used it to polish the shower walls. Nothing sticks then, not even the hard water minerals. Just be very careful not to get any on the floor! Melaleuca Products are SO Awesome. Thank you!

I was introduced to Melaleuca in April and absolutely love using Rustic Touch. I use it when dusting, and not only does it give your house that lovely and clean fragrance, but it also gives all your wooden surfaces a natural warm glow. My window sills and wooden stairs look really nice. And it DOES repel the dust which is what every housewife loves to hear. My dusting is now so rewarding!

I used Rustic Touch to polish a 1962 Gretsch Chet Atkins guitar before taking it to a vintage guitar show to sell. The person that bought it was amazed at how good it looked, and asked what I used to polish it with. Got a great price on the guitar and use it on all my instruments.

I have a teak table that is about 30 years old and used the Rustic Touch on it, and it brought the life back in it. I always use it on the dash of the car and also my leather couch, coat, shoes, and of course to dust all the furniture in my home. I find it repels the dust longer than any other product I used to use. Another thing I have used it on is stainless steel appliances. Wonderful how the finger prints are gone and there is no greasy feel to the refrigerator door. Just make sure you don't get any overspray on the floor as it will be extremely slippery. If it happens, just spray on a bit of Tough & Tender and it wipes away very easily.

I love Rustic Touch. After dusting my entire home smells fresh with a tinge of orange. I have lots of antiques. Rustic Touch really brings the life to the beautiful woods. And I don't have to dust near as often as I used to. I also use Rustic Touch to condition the leather in my car and on my sofas. Once I just didn't have time to polish my shoes, so I sprayed them with just a bit of Rustic Touch and wiped, wow they looked brand new.
