Dentists are trained to recognize oral-symptoms of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease, acid reflux, oral cancer, leukemia, osteoporosis, stress, sleep apnea, or bulimia.

The Melaleuca Wellness Guide has long noted the connection between gum disease and diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Another study notes that 26 percent of patients suffering a hemorrhagic stroke within the brain were found to have the oral bacteria S.mutans. Researchers think that S.mutans bacteria may attach to weakened blood vessels causing hemorrhages in the arteries in the brain.
Whitening Tooth Polish

Xylitol

Emergency Tooth Pain Relief

The book Practical Guide to Essential Oils tells us that clove essential oil can be used to temporarily treat toothache. If used it should be carefully applied, just a diluted drop on a cotton swab until you can get to the dentist.

According to the New York Times article clove oil can cause burning and damage to lips and mouth. Taken in excess it is toxic. Do not use clove oil for teething babies.

Melaleuca Dental Care Success Stories

I have been a Melaleuca customer for over a year now. During a Melaleuca overview, the Marketing Executive raved about the tooth polish. I thought to myself, what is so special about a toothpaste? So one month I decided to try the Melaleuca Whitening Tooth Polish for sensitive teeth. It was then I discovered that it was no ordinary toothpaste like I thought. My sensitivity has diminished and my hygienist even complimented me on the improvement on my teeth and gums. Now my whole family uses the Melaleuca tooth polish.

I also use the Melaleuca concentrated mouth rinse not just as a mouth rinse, but also to stop a sore throat in it's track when I feel one coming on. I also use Tooth Polish to clean my tarnished jewelry.

Switching over to Melaleuca and using the exceed gum has been a game-changer for me for two reasons. First, my dentist told me that xylitol (the sweetener used in exceed gum and mints) actually fights bacteria! Second, chewing gum and sucking on mints produces saliva which produces enzymes, which helps your body digest its food! Win/win as far as I’m concerned!! Melaleuca's Tooth Polish is one of the reasons I became a customer. I wanted toothpaste for my family that was free from Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS) and other harmful ingredients that appear in most supermarket toothpastes. I have a great story from a recent visit to my dentist for a cleaning. While the tech was busy cleaning my teeth, she asks, "have you seen another dentist for your cleaning"? (It had been quite a while since I had been there.) I responded, "No". She then says "What are you doing then?" After she finished I told her. She thought I had recently had my teeth cleaned! She did not schedule me for a follow-up, just told me to call when I thought I needed one. I have been using our fabulous products for 12 years and wouldn't use anything else!

I became a Melaleuca customer in 2008. I knew I loved the Renew Lotion so I agreed to my friend introducing the company to me. The products had me in awe at the end of month number two as a new customer. I was married to a dentist who was soon to retire, but who agreed to test the dental products. His hygienist chose 7 patients all with gum/gingivitis issues. One was a teenager with braces. 6 out of 7 patients complied. All 6 patients returned with reduced pocket depth and reduced inflammation which included the patient with braces. The Mouth Rinse and the Tooth Polish were the products used by each patient. I love the dental products. For years, I had been plagued with mouth sores. I would have one at least once a month. They are so painful and can last a week or more. I got a prescription from the dentist that helped, but it would still take 2-3 days to feel relief and it tasted terrible. Then I became a Melaleuca customer and started using the Whitening Tooth Polish and mouth rinse. Goodbye mouth sores!! Every now and then, I will feel a sore start to push through. So when I brush my teeth, I swish the mouth rinse longer and concentrate on that area. The next morning the soreness has gone. I also love the dental floss. I don't have to use as much because it doesn't fray like other brands, so it lasts longer. (My family thinks I'm weird. I haven't missed a day of flossing in 40 years!) I have used the Tooth Polish since 2003, but recently started using the Mouth Rinse with it. (I had switched to another brand on dentist's recommendation.) I went to the dentist about a month later and the hygienist commented that there wasn't as much bleeding and my gums were not as receded. (They measure by mm, and all the measurements were lower.)
