Lavender Essential Oil
(Please read our disclaimer)
Lavender Essential Oil is one of the most widely used oils today, either topically or through aromatherapy or massage therapy. According to The Melaleuca Wellness Guide and the Practical Guide to Essential Oils lavender’s chemical structure makes it useful as an analgesic, antidepressant, antiseptic, decongestant, sedative, and it also helps repel insects.
Stress
With the holiday season upon us, diffusing Lavender Essential Oil has been shown to be effective in managing stress and depression.
With long lists and "short on time feelings," insomnia can also be a problem. Diffusing Lavender Essential Oil right before bedtime was shown to not only increase deep sleep, but also made for a more energized feeling the next morning.
Rush to finish shopping before the holidays leaves a feeling of fatigue—mentally and physically. Aromatherapy using Lavender Essential Oil was shown to help reduce feelings of fatigue.
Inhaling Lavender Essential Oil, can help reduce high blood pressure and help with relaxing feelings.
Cold Fighter
In The Melaleuca Wellness Guide and the Practical Guide to Essential Oils, it states that the properties of Lavender Essential Oil by itself or combined with bergamot or eucalyptus in a diffuser inhibit many bacteria and fungi in the air. Thus keeping any illness at bay during the holiday season.
Breathing Lavender Essential Oil can also aid in controlling asthma and respiratory allergies, which tend to worsen during this time of year.
Remember when diffusing any essential oils be aware of who will be in the room such as young children, older adults, or pets.

Lavender Essential Oil Success Stories
Lavender oil is a favorite of mine. I even have grown lavender plants in my garden. I mix lavender essential oil with Melaleuca’s fractionated coconut oil as a carrier and slather it on after a shower, sealing in the moisture during cold, dry winter weather. I have dabbed a few drops under my nose over my night cream if I am stressed or can’t sleep, and once I even put a few drops on my pillowcase. It really is soothing. I want to try to find a recipe for making lavender sugar, which is an old fashioned treat I have “read about” but never made, to have with tea.

OMG I don't know what I would do without my Lavender oil for my sleeping. I often have trouble getting to sleep. I had heard that lavender oil rubbed on the bottom of your feet before bed helped. I tried it and it worked. However, my husband didn't like the smell. I went without for a few days tossing and turning until my husband sat up in bed and said: "Just put that stuff on your feet and go to sleep, it works so I will put up with it rather than staying up with you tossing and turning!" I did put it on and am a happy sleeper for sure. No complaints from my husband. I just keep the covers down tight after I put it on ;)

Lavender essential oil! It has helped so much since we started using it and I keep finding more ideas! What an amazing gift from nature! I just love it! For pretty much anything Lavender oil and Mela gel are my go-to. Especially with kids, I recommend everyone to have and use it. From helping with colds to wounds, allergies, diaper rash, after birth...and I could just go on and on! One story I just have to tell; We were on the go and grabbed a quick lunch at an Asian food place. My husband tends to react to some Asian foods sometimes but we thought we can pick something that 'seems' safe. Well after a couple of bites I could see that he was struggling with his throat swelling. In a panic, I grabbed the lavender+peace roll-on from my diaper bag and got him to apply it to his throat....and within seconds he was feeling fine again! What a relief! And I was able to say again....I'm loving my Melaleuca products more with each use!! I'm also so thankful for Melaleuca offering such amazing, quality essential oils for us to just add to our routine wellness shopping!
The Melaleuca Wellness Guide is a must-have! It has such amazing information and tips for just about everything! I love how it gives me more insight into the products we use, so I know why they work so well. I can also help others find products they need with the knowledge!

I love using the Lavender Essential oil! I put a couple of drops into my children’s baths and like to also add a couple of drops to their unscented lotion for an extra relaxing and restful sleep. I like to diffuse it also along with the Vapor essential oil when there’s a cold in the house. The newest thing, I started using it in a rollerball when it gets a little hectic and we love it!! Thank you for making a lavender renew so I don’t have to do it!

Anxiety is an all-too-common issue for many people. Stresses can mount up until the anxiety reaches a tipping point. And it seems that everyone, from our children to our grandparents, can be bothered by anxious thoughts. That's where my Pure lavender essential oil comes in! It has truly become one of my favorite stress busters. If I know my day will be busier (and stressful) than usual, I will add 1-2 drops of Pure lavender essential oil to my shower poof (or washcloth) as I lather up. The scent allows me to be totally at peace and helps me get ready to face the day. I have a diffuser running in my home office (especially important in the dry winter months) and on those stressful days, I find that adding 1 drop helps me remember the calm peacefulness of my shower. And I have taught my little grand-daughter about the benefits of our Pure Lavender, too. On those nights that she has come to stay with Papa and me, I will take a little bit of coconut oil, add 1 drop of Pure Lavender, and rub her little back until she is peacefully asleep! It works like a charm! I am so excited to get the new Melaleuca Wellness Guide to see the sections on how we can use other essential oils for our health and happiness.

I love the lavender essential oil! Just the smell of it makes me feel less stressed, I feel like my blood pressure drops. I put it in my diffuser every night for bedtime. I also put it on the bottoms of my feet to help me sleep. Who doesn't need a natural good night's sleep these days?

Wow, you will probably get a lot of stories. I love the Lavender. I actually have a problem sleeping if I don’t use it every night in our Melaleuca Diffuser. It’s a wonderful deep sleep with interesting dreams, but nice dreams. We never use an alarm clock because it alarms us when it goes off. But our sleep is not too deep that we still wake up on time for anything. I also find it very calming and relaxing when I use it on the bottoms of my feet and behind my ears. I do this when I know I’m going to be in a stressful situation. It's such a huge difference. It’s also a very pure and nice spruce up perfume for a special occasion.

I love using essential oils. My two favorites that I keep in my purse are lavender and peppermint. Whenever I feel a headache coming on I put a drop on my temples and within minutes my headache is gone. In the last year I started experiencing hot flashes and I put a drop of peppermint oil on the nape of my neck and it cools me down. When I feel an asthma episode starting I diffuse peppermint and lavender and I don't have to use my inhaler.

My favorite essential oil is lavender. It relaxes me so much after a tough day. I have dabbed it right under my nose if I am feeling especially sleepless. Once I mixed it with Melaleuca oil because I felt a cold coming on. I slept like a baby and when I woke up, no cold! I think perhaps it enters our blood system through the lungs, in a very gentle way.
