How to Keep Your New Year’s Weight Loss Resolution
(Please read our disclaimer)
Sustainability—a word often used within the farming realm. It means, per Webster’s dictionary, “using a resource so that the resource is not depleted or permanently damaged; maintainable.” Sustainability in farming isn’t done without a plan each year, working toward that plan, and getting help when needed.
How does this word fit in with weight loss? As you begin this New Year with resolutions of one kind or another, keep in mind that they need to have sustainability.
First, have a plan with vision. As with any goal you’d like to accomplish, envisioning it and putting it either on paper with words or a picture, helps you take that first step. It’s not only a visual, but also a tangible reminder to “keep on keeping on.” Ideas for a weight loss vision board can include pictures cut out of the Melaleuca catalog of products you plan on including in your diet, such as the Peak Performance Metabolic Health Bundle or Weight Loss Bundle, FiberWise Drink and Bars, or any of the many Craveblocker or GC Control products. Don’t forget to include foods you need to eat and activities you want to do each day to help you burn calories and stay fit.
Second, get focused and be realistic. Look at the big goal you’d like to accomplish and divide that into smaller goals that can be achieved over a week or two at a time (even daily is okay too). Look at what you eat and how you can change that to accomplish the smaller goals you’ve set for yourself. The University of California San Francisco shares a list of foods and ideas to get you started on the right path. According to The Melaleuca Wellness Guide, effective weight loss starts with proper nutrition and the Peak Performance Nutrition Pack is the most convenient way to take the daily supplements essential to good health.
Enlist some help. Achieving any goal is easier to be accomplished if you get help—from friends who partner with you, or with a plan, such as the R3 Weight Loss program through Melaleuca. Also don’t forget to add to your “new you” goals, learning new things as well—read up on how to prepare foods differently and eating out for weight loss.
Help losing weight not only comes in the form of friends, but also in the energy you expel. Don’t forget to add movement to your daily goals. Incorporating exercise or stretch breaks into your work from home routine can actually help you be more efficient and aid your posture. According to the National Institute of Diabetes, “Not only can you be active at any size, you can have fun and feel good at the same time.” When you feel good you are more apt to exercise more. Exercise doesn’t have to be stuff done at the gym, it can be simple activities as described by the NID: walking, dancing, cycling, water workouts, strength training, or just daily life activities.
There are many roadblocks that people face that keep them from meeting their physical activity goals, don’t let age be one of them. Look at the example of Frank VanderSloot in February 2019 as described on the Melaleuca FaceBook page, “Melaleuca CEO Frank VanderSloot just broke another rowing world record! This time, he rowed 354 meters in the 1-minute stationary row—shattering the previous record of 349 meters held by James Castellan, who is a legend in the sport of indoor rowing. Castellan had held the record for 2 ½ years. Frank now holds six world records. He’s doing so to make a point: He credits the Peak Performance Pack for helping him stay younger longer, as Frank’s strength continues to improve as he gets older. He’s providing compelling evidence that the Peak Performance Pack is the world’s most advanced vitamin and mineral supplement.”
Reward yourself along the way. Having the vision board and others around will aid you in seeing the progress you have made, especially when it seems that you have made none. The journey of weight loss is not perfection, but progress. So judge yourself by the behavior changes you’ve made and not just by the numbers. Making an effort to live a healthier life is reason to celebrate every day.

Weight Loss Success Stories
There are many ways to keep the New Year's Weight loss resolution. Something that I use is to keep myself hydrated by drinking enough water. When the water tastes bland, I add Melaleuca's zero calorie drink which tastes great. I love Melaleuca's Attain chocolate caramel bars and I use these to substitute meals and snacks sometimes when I crave something sweet. Often our family drinks Activate drink to boost our immune system. I dilute it with water and add a splash of sparkling water. It tastes like orange soda, but without calories or sugar! It also tastes great!
I am very happy with these products. I am also happy to know that there is a Melaleuca Wellness Guide. It is very beneficial for every Melaleuca customer. I recommend it to everyone because it has a lot of helpful information about the products and it gives suggestions of how we can use them to keep our environment better! Thank you Melaleuca and RM Barry.

Weight loss and weight control go hand in hand with Melaleuca products. I started my journey with the Vitality 4 because good health is a good beginning. CellWise and Florify are a crucial part of the equation. FiberWise was next. Used either right before a meal, or as an in between snack, it is a helpful aid to feeling full. I've been pleased to add GC Control as a way to control cravings. No more spikes in glucose levels! Melaleuca produces the healthy products we all need. Thank you Melaleuca and RM Barry. I'll forever be an appreciative shopper.

My favorite weight loss tips: 1) Freeze seedless grapes and blueberries and use them as ice cubes. Ice water is yummier when it's visually appealing.
2) Serve my Attain and/or GC Control shakes in a wine glass. It makes me feel relaxed and I drink it slower, giving me a chance to feel more full.
3) Walk. I can't always go to the gym or the pool, but I can almost always find a reason and place to walk, even if it is from the far end of the parking lot. Walking is easier on the joints than running, you don't need any special clothes, and often you can find a partner to make it more fun, especially if you are "just" walking (compared to jogging or running).

Having gone to a nutritionist for weight loss, their main tip is to not be without healthy food when you get hungry. If you do, the urge to stop for fast food increases dramatically. I always carry the Attain Bars with me to have at those times where I need something NOW. I have also put the shake mix in a shaker to have in my car. The healthy snacks and granola are great to have with you too. Be prepared at all times and you will succeed.

For years, the way I've maintained a healthy weight is to focus on eating a variety of organic fruits and vegetables every day. I also include in my daily diet healthy fats and animal proteins, like raw, organic nuts and seeds (including flax); raw, organic fatty fruits and vegetables (coconut, avocado); plus a little fish, dairy, and meat that are raised chemical-free or organic and grass-fed. Having blood sugar problems from when I was young has forced me to avoid all sugars and grains. The GC Control shakes are wonderful for a safe, comforting treat! I stay busy and can't cook a lot, so pledging to only eat what comes out of my kitchen keeps me from the temptation to over-eat! Eating quality, more expensive foods also keeps me from over-eating!
