Calmicid - Help for the Pain of Heartburn and Indigestion
What do wintery weather, holidays and family gatherings have in common? The answer is eating more than usual. We celebrate with food, and when it's cold out we tend to comfort ourselves with food. For millions of Americans eating often causes indigestion. And for some eating a tasty meal can cause pain so intense that it is called "heartburn."
The Melaleuca Wellness Guide explains that normally the lower esophageal sphincter, a muscle valve, opens just to allow food to pass into the stomach. However, when it opens too often, or does not close tightly enough, heartburn is experienced because stomach acid seeps back up into the esophagus.
Heartburn relief can be achieved through lifestyle changes. Keeping a food diary can help identify which foods increase symptoms. Doctors often recommend waiting two or three hours after eating before going to bed, and sleeping with the head of the bed elevated. The goal is to keep stomach acid from splashing back up into the esophagus.
Gas, belching or a bloated feeling is a sign of inadequate digestion in the stomach. Eating on the run, inadequate chewing, and stress, all play a part in causing indigestion. An article at Everyday Health helps clarify the difference between indigestion and heartburn.
For occasional heartburn try Calmicid. It contains 300mg of bone protecting calcium and a special blend of chamomile flower, fennel seed, and ginger root. These three herbs are well-known stomach soothers.
A surprising simple remedy for heartburn is chewing gum after a meal. Not only will chewing gum help freshen breath, but several studies have shown that chewing sugar-free gum for 30 minutes after a meal can relieve heartburn symptoms.
For regular, frequent heartburn, try Calmicid AC Acid Reducer. Money saving Calmicid AC Acid Reducer contains famotidine, the same active ingredient found in Maximum Strength Pepcid AC. Famotidine is a histamine2 blocker. It works by making stomach fluids less acidic and less irritating. Calmicid AC Acid Reducer goes to work within minutes and lasts 10-12 hours.
Use a food diary to help identity offending foods. Eat earlier in the day. Chew Exceed Sugarless Gum after meals and before bed. For frequent heartburn remember Calmicid AC Acid Reducer.

Calmicid Success Stories
I don't very often get intestinal distress but when it does happen, I have a bottle of CALMICID near by in the kitchen. I take two, very pleasant tasting not chalky, and quickly the tummy problem is gone...Love it!

A few years ago I developed intolerance to caffeine. I get severe heartburn after drinking soda, coffee, or tea. When I learned about Calmicid I began taking it for my heartburn which worked so much faster than other antacids. Now when I know I will be out and likely to drink caffeine or have a rich meal, I take Calmicid AC prior and have avoided heartburn. Calmicid AC works even when I take it just prior to ordering my meal. It really works wonders. Thank you so much to Melaleuca and RM Barry for sharing.

I have a Westie, one of the cute little white dogs. She has a very sensitive digestive system. After her first year of being raised on a beef-brand diet, she started crying in pain. I took her to the vet and we decided to switch her diet to a lamb-base because it's an easier meat to digest. It did help, but Casey still suffers from indigestion problems and her cry is like that of a baby with colic. I started using the Calmicid AC when she has an episode and within 20 minutes, she is very comfortable and I could tell she is experiencing great relief. I decided to try this for Casey when I had some digestive issues from a little too spicy meal one night. If it worked for me, I wanted Casey to have the same relief. I don't suggest using all products on our pets, but this is one product I'm comfortable giving to Casey when she has her occasional digestive issues.

I have battled heartburn for most of my life. My heartburn would come out of nowhere, even waking me up in the middle of the night. I used to eat over-the-counter fast relief tablets like they were candy. I would have to start with 4 tablets and usually had to take more. I even took prescription acid reducers. I still would have to take a quick-acting remedy. The first time I tried Calmicid I was skeptical. I took 2 tablets and actually enjoyed the taste and felt relief in a very short time. Now I don't go anywhere without them. I have even been able to reduce the number of acid reducers that I take. I am hoping to get off them completely. Thank you Melaleuca for changing my life.

I have tried Calmicid and am TOTALLY impressed. I have had stomach problems since high school, and have taken lots of prescription medication. I am pleased to say that I am now on one prescription medication and I take one Calmicid at night. What an incredible product!

I have had 4 out of 6 chemotherapy sessions now and although the anti-nausea meds are working great (only 6 tablets in total), I do have a lot of heartburn the first week. Thank goodness for Calmicid and Calmicid AC! Most of the time one Calmicid does the trick. I use maybe 2 or 3 Calmicid AC per session if it's persistent. Taking Calmicid AC before you eat also helps.
Thanks for your newsletter format. Short and to the point and focused on topic!

I love Calmicid. When I started getting heartburn a few years ago I took one Calmicid and my heartburn disappeared. Recently I started getting heartburn more often. I now take Calmicid AC beforehand if I know I will be eating something that may cause me heartburn. One tablet lasts me 24 hours. When I remember to take the Calmicid I have no problems. Thank you Melaleuca.
